Dr. Law on the “illogical” UCC

The Miami Herald‘s “Ask Doctor Law” column is full of bad news this week.  In the first letter, a “Skeptical Buyer” of electrical components is being dunned by a seller even though the goods never arrived.  Seems they were lost when the UPS truck ran off the road.  “[T]he seller claims we’re legally required to pay,” writes the buyer, “even though we can’t use the goods. This sounds ridiculous. Do we really have to pay?”

In the second, a customer leaves a computer at a local store to be repaired.  The store accidentally sells it to another customer—who happens to be a lawyer.  Can the customer get the computer back?
