KCON XVIII: The Post-Mortem Begins, as Does the Planning for KCON XIX
Fifteen years ago, when KCON was held at Stetson, 45 conferees embarked for a short boat tour. The boat ran aground on a sandbar, and nine gallant law professors disembarked and waded ashore, lightening the boat’s load and insuring that the annals of the conference would not include first-person accounts of cannibalism. Like all of the most inspiring acts of heroism, the events are recounted in Limerick form here. There are no surviving accounts of the missing nine. They may be lost to admiralty law.
And so I am happy to report that when our host of KCON XVIII, Rachel Arnow-Richman, took some participants on an excursion around a body of water on the University of Florida’s campus, all returned unscathed. This time there was no shipwreck!

I regard this as evidence of a successful conference. We will be posting more content from the conference in the coming weeks.
Based on the spike in betting on Kalshi and Polymarket, I surmise that rumors of our next location have already slipped out. For those of you who have not already cashed in, I am happy to announce that we hope to build on the successes of KCON XVIII, as we plan for its successor, which will take place at Case Western Reserve School of Law. Look for a save-the-date for KCON XIX, where Eric Chaffee and Juliet Kostritsky will be our hosts.
