KCON XVIII Is Coming at You Soon

February 19-21 at the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law

We have not had an International Conference on Contracts (KCON) on U.S. soil since KCON XVI in 2023. The most recent meeting of the group, a great success, was held in Bristol, UK in 2024.

This year, we will be meeting in Gainesville, Florida at the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law. For those of you still making last-minute decisions about participation, the conference website is here.

At the conference, we will recognize two ContractsProfs for their unique contributions to our field. The Distinguished Service Award recognizes a senior contracts scholar and teacher who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the contract law scholarly community by creating and sustaining opportunities for intellectual dialogue and scholarly exchange, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, embracing and mentoring emerging scholars, and forging the connections among us.

This year’s honoree is the founder of KCON and of this Blog, Frank Snyder.

The Lifetime Achievement Award honors a senior contracts scholar whose published work has made profound and influential contributions to contract and commercial law scholarship and who has demonstrated sustained intellectual leadership in the field.

This year’s honoree is Robert Scott.

Bob cannot attend the conference, but we will honor him in absentia this year, and we are working to have him join us next year at KCON XIX at a venue to be revealed at the conference. In the meantime, watch this space, as we will share an interview with Bob, as well as some reflections by some of his co-authors on what it has been like to learn from Bob, work with Bob, and have Bob as a mentor, colleague, and friend.
