Rag trade, up close and personal
Few business relationships are as close and as contentious as that between those who make fashionable garb and those who sell it. Disputes are endemic but litigation has been rare—until now. Today’s New York Times has a fascinating story about the economics and contract practices in the fashion industry, a field in which neither the buyer nor the seller seems to know what the price of the goods ultimately will be.
