Feds issue new prison contract
The U.S. government has awarded a new prison contract to Corrections Corporation of America. The four-year deal may be worth as much as $129 million. CCA will be responsible for about 1,200 prisoners at its Northeast Ohio Correctional Center in Youngstown. CCA, with total annual revenues of about $1 billion, is now reported to be the sixth largest correctional system in the U.S.
The contract under which CCA leases the correctional center from its related “CCA Prison Realty Trust” is here.
