Bosox “curse” up for bids

One of the most famous contracts in sports history is up for sale.  The original contract document under which the Boston Red Sox sold Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees in 1919 is being offered on Ebay to benefit a Rhode Island homeless shelter.  The bidding is already over a million dollars—ten times the amount the Beantown Boys got for Ruth’s contract.  It’s the sale of Ruth (at left, pitching for the Bosox) to that led to the recently exorcised 85-year “Curse of the Bambino.”
